Mayor Slone announces Re-Election
Mayor Harold E. Slone Announces Campaign for a Fourth Term as Mayor of Louisa
After careful consideration, prayer, and conversations with my family, I am honored to officially announce my candidacy for a fourth term as Mayor of the City of Louisa.
Serving the people of Louisa has been one of the greatest privileges of my life. Together, we have faced challenges, celebrated successes, and worked tirelessly to make our community stronger than ever before. Every decision I have made has been guided by one simple principle: doing what is best for the people of Louisa.
During my time as mayor, our administration has focused on responsible financial management, improving public safety, investing in infrastructure, expanding recreational opportunities, supporting economic development, and positioning our city for long-term growth.
Together, we have secured millions of dollars in grant funding for critical projects, strengthened our police and fire departments, improved our parks and public spaces, enhanced city services, and laid the groundwork for transformational investments that will benefit our community for generations.
But our work is not finished.
The next four years will be some of the most important in our city's history. We are moving forward with a new wastewater treatment facility, a state-of-the-art Emergency Communications Response Center, continued improvements to our streets and utilities, expanded recreational opportunities for our families, and additional efforts to attract new businesses and jobs to Louisa.
I believe our best days are still ahead.
This campaign is not about looking back—it is about building upon the progress we've made and continuing to move Louisa forward with experienced leadership, fiscal responsibility, transparency, and a vision for the future.
I am proud of what we have accomplished together, but I remain even more excited about what lies ahead.
I respectfully ask for your support, your prayers, and your vote on November 3, 2026. Together, we can continue building a city that our children and grandchildren will be proud to call home.
Thank you for allowing me the honor of serving as your mayor. I look forward to earning your trust once again.

Mayor Slone receives training award from Ky League of Cities
COVINGTON, KY – Nearly 200 city officials from across the state were recognized for their educational achievement during the City Officials Training Center (COTC) Awards Program at the 2017 KLC Conference & Expo on October 4, 2017. The annual conference drew in nearly 500 city officials and leaders from across the commonwealth.
The City Officials Training Center is a voluntary education program administered by the Kentucky League of Cities (KLC). City officials can complete education levels by attending KLC events and by submitting outside training credit from other municipal training. There are three levels of achievement: Level I- Achievement in City Governance, Level II- Excellence in City Governance and Level III- Masters of City Governance.
“The COTC program provides a variety of training that better equips our city leaders across the state to serve their local communities. With this achievement and the amount of training it represents, citizens are the real winners because our communities are reaping the benefits of better informed leaders,” said J.D. Chaney, KLC deputy executive director. “This is an impressive feat and a testament to the dedication of these city officials.”
